What is a WhatsApp click-to-chat link?
It is a wa.me link that opens a WhatsApp chat with your number when tapped, without the customer having to save your number first. You can add a pre-filled message so the conversation starts with the details you need.
Does it work with a WhatsApp Business number?
Yes. Click-to-chat links work with both the regular WhatsApp app and the WhatsApp Business app, as long as the number is registered on WhatsApp.
Why add a pre-filled message?
It removes the blank-screen moment — customers just tap send — and it tells you where they came from and what they want. For example, a message that mentions the service or the poster they scanned makes enquiries easier to sort.
Is my number stored anywhere?
No. The link and QR code are generated in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to Rampage Connect or saved.
Can I send marketing messages to people who click the link?
Replying to someone who messaged you is fine. Sending them marketing later is covered by Singapore’s Do Not Call rules under the PDPA — see our WhatsApp marketing guide before you broadcast.
