Google search result preview
A free Google search result (SERP) preview tool from Rampage Connect. Enter a page title, meta description, URL and optional target keyword to see a desktop and mobile Google-style snippet, the title’s pixel width against the roughly 600-pixel desktop limit, description length guidance (about 120–160 characters) and keyword checks. Runs in the browser; nothing is stored.
How to use it
- Type the page title and meta description you plan to use (or copy them from your page).
- Add the page URL and, optionally, the search you want to be found for.
- Switch between desktop and mobile, then fix anything flagged before you publish.
Frequently asked questions
How long should a page title be for Google?
Google’s desktop results show roughly 600 pixels of a title before cutting it off — usually around 50–60 characters, depending on the letters used. Wide letters like W and M take more space than narrow ones like i and l, which is why this tool measures pixels, not just characters.
How long should a meta description be?
Around 120–160 characters is a sensible target: long enough to sell the click, short enough that the important part isn’t cut off. Put your main point and call to action first.
Why does Google show a different title or description from mine?
Google sometimes rewrites titles and descriptions when it thinks other text on the page better matches what someone searched. Clear, accurate titles and descriptions that match the page make rewrites less likely.
Does putting the keyword in the description help ranking?
The meta description isn’t a direct ranking factor, but Google bolds words that match the search, which makes your result stand out and can lift clicks.
Is anything I type stored?
